Archie's Cottage

The former home of Archie McPhail is a classic self-contained highland cottage that sits on the shoreline, with spectacular views across to Ben Nevis and the mountains of Argyll. It still retains the charm of a bothy, with a living room/sleeping area, a small galley kitchen and bathroom. The cottage sleeps two.

Archie's Cottage weekly rates start from £710 to £925 (Christmas and New Year weeks £1,000).

Accomodation

This compact cottage for two is heated by a combination of night storage heaters and a new wood burning stove (starter pack of logs provided) and contains the following:

  • Bedroom/living area with a king sized bed, dining table and chairs, armchairs.
  • Galley kitchen with electric cooker, toaster, kettle, microwave and fridge/freezer.
  • Bathroom consisting of loo, basin and cast iron bath (with shower head).


Linen and Towels

Bed linen is provided, but please bring your own towels.

WIFI

The cottage has no BT telephone line internet access. There is, however, satisfactory 4G mobile data available with Vodafone and EE. This can be strengthened if you wish to bring your own router or similar. Personally we recommend a digital detox, particularly at the cottage.


Dogs

We are happy to host a maximum of 1 dog per booking, at an additional cost of £25. Please kindly keep the dog in their own bed in the porch, and do not let them on the bed. There is ample space in the porch.

We share the surounding land with highland cattle, red deer and sheep. Please be particularly mindful of your dog around the Highland cattle - they can be extremely protective of their calves and potentially dangerous.

Rates and Bookings


2024  Rates - Archie's Cottage

                          Low Season                         January to April & October - December           £750          (excluding the Christmas & New Year weeks)

                          High Season                        May -  September                                               £925

Please refer to the Online Booking table below for specific weeks 'click' on the Thursday you want to arrive to get the rate for that week.  Weekly rentals go from Thursday to Thursday.  The only exception being Friday 20 September to Thursday 26 September 2024 which is at a rate of £790 for the 6 day stay.

Christmas and New Year 2024 & 2025

How about Christmas and/or New Year at The Cottage. The cottage will be available for the Christmas and New Year weeks at a rate of £1,000/week.


 SHORT STAYS available by negotiation from November 2024 to April 2025.  (excluding the Christmas & New Year weeks)

                     Rates - 3 nights £450; 4 nights £525; 5 nights £600 

2025 Diary and Rates 

Prices for 2025 will be as 2024. We haven't opened our calendar for 2025 yet, but please just get in touch on  info@grasspoint.co.uk
